Come down to the beautiful all-weather Deck at the Byron Golf Club for an afternoon of fine music, food and fun. This month The Hip Operation are again excited to feature two iconic guitarists with the band. It was so much fun last time we have to do it again. Planning on recording some of this music soon. KIRK LORANGE is a master of the slide guitar, singer and songwriter , known for his work Chasin' the Train,Richard Clapton and others as well as his own recordings. MICHEL ROSE is a fabulous musician and Australia's finest pedal steel player. He is a member of The Feral Swing Cats , the Country music Hall of Fame and has played and recorded with a who's who of country,jazz and pop artists. They'll be joining with; GREG LYON [bass/vocal - ex-Crossfire,Rodriguez .Jon Cleary] SCOTT HILLS [drums/vocal - The Flood.Graeme Connors] Scott and Michel are just back from Tamworth, so it may get a bit country. We'll be playing some of our favourite tunes from many years of working together in various lineups. Some music by Little Feat, Ry Cooder, BB King, Neville Bros, Ray Charles ,some country-soul - plus selections from the Hip Operation CD " Groovin' " .And maybe a couple from Kirk's great album of a few years back "No Apostrophe" The Sunday Groove Sessions have become a favourite hangout for music-loving locals and musos. The monthly gigs also feature many special guests dropping by to play. There's a rumour that another very famous guitarist may drop by this month ?!! A mini guitar festival. There will be over 35 Aussie guitar acts on two stages from the likes of Phil Emmanuel, Kevin Borich, Jeff Lang, Fiona Boyes, Louie Shelton, Paul George, Steve Edmonds and More - with Special guest - Lindsay 'The Doctor' McDougall! The BBGF will be held in the iconic Byron Bay Brewery over three days - Nov 10 - 12.
